For the Ole Miss vs. Auburn game I made a Sausage Jalapeno Braid that turned out to be the star of the table. It was really easy to make, and everyone loved it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv_tTxoLbxwCiZebmNlu_WsgYbe_24KDXevc7MuAd-zcoKXeLy43B2d5V-bEAeefOGsNNxO5jIybWim3H42vXHv1TzHCz3DeBVvll0tqsC8EHxp-A3E1TtVCFz04sm9sJeVZ763TwuHGGz/s1600/IMG_4269.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv_tTxoLbxwCiZebmNlu_WsgYbe_24KDXevc7MuAd-zcoKXeLy43B2d5V-bEAeefOGsNNxO5jIybWim3H42vXHv1TzHCz3DeBVvll0tqsC8EHxp-A3E1TtVCFz04sm9sJeVZ763TwuHGGz/s320/IMG_4269.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I got inspired to see what other kind of "braids" people have made. You could really throw just about anything you want into these wonderful treats. All you need is a can of pizza dough, an egg white, and whatever else you are going to stuff it with! <a href="http://www.gimmesomeoven.com/easy-breakfast-braid/" target="_blank">Gimme Some Oven </a>has a great post on how to make a braid. Here are a few ideas for some braids to try!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZR9HZvm94YAUuZOUA-BK5OsiQ4MjbY_2lQFVhxRTqMQ6y8vmXI6iCk3iuW600paqf-hbEuBLVdSVfUe-at86H-jHPmXEx8wKcwHTTkTACj-dszU1XwfpdLANkyHMW4AB6eRPxvyu4HB4R/s1600/freezer+meal+ham+and+cheese+braid.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZR9HZvm94YAUuZOUA-BK5OsiQ4MjbY_2lQFVhxRTqMQ6y8vmXI6iCk3iuW600paqf-hbEuBLVdSVfUe-at86H-jHPmXEx8wKcwHTTkTACj-dszU1XwfpdLANkyHMW4AB6eRPxvyu4HB4R/s1600/freezer+meal+ham+and+cheese+braid.jpg" /></a></div>

<a href="http://www.ducksinarowblog.com/2010/01/freezer-meal-group-info.html" target="_blank">Ham and Cheese Braid</a>... love this idea! It's just like the Ham and Cheese Slider Sandwiches you see all over the Grove, but instead of making a dozen small sandwiches you just make one giant one!</div>

I've mentioned these little wonders in a few posts before, and I'm still crazy about them! If you haven't bought some Hershey's Pumpkin Spice Kisses, go get them NOW! They're seasonal, so they won't be around much longer! I bought 6 bags. Yes, they are amazing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH9yqFlsd7pOq9KJ7aoa_RkD9Xi6ijwKK8Nw_krdl9mBOVJWYz-oeYUis-_tSplBWNaq3JFb4QnJKo1Oxnq4E6OR9ZUTWcPJDwgsMDxW0A03WlOdVmjCp8ehSLdUUUmQzIz0bZC5DHXmo5/s1600/IMG_4461.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH9yqFlsd7pOq9KJ7aoa_RkD9Xi6ijwKK8Nw_krdl9mBOVJWYz-oeYUis-_tSplBWNaq3JFb4QnJKo1Oxnq4E6OR9ZUTWcPJDwgsMDxW0A03WlOdVmjCp8ehSLdUUUmQzIz0bZC5DHXmo5/s320/IMG_4461.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I've seen many cookies made on Pinterest with these kisses, and tried to make them myself. Attempting to make cookies with these and pre-made sugar cookie dough was a nightmare. Save yourself the trouble and don't even attempt it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCEoGZbh-GgKeayKAbTt9dUZDQx2iV77VSCLD-6enRvbONRgwP-lfPhWVYxBo8ya0HUc777a7f8HbC4s9HsNCYR0uEWSMWrlwvMZG8bDeLcH8nBwlYz1gklcR0AYnReRAajMxJtSILinOt/s1600/IMG_4456.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCEoGZbh-GgKeayKAbTt9dUZDQx2iV77VSCLD-6enRvbONRgwP-lfPhWVYxBo8ya0HUc777a7f8HbC4s9HsNCYR0uEWSMWrlwvMZG8bDeLcH8nBwlYz1gklcR0AYnReRAajMxJtSILinOt/s320/IMG_4456.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I found a recipe on <a href="http://picky-palate.com/2008/10/08/giving-kisses-for-fall/" target="_blank">Picky Palate</a> that makes cookies using a spice cake mix and canned pumpkin. I altered the recipe a little, and here is my version:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfL4i1PLPksOuocLLtr8cKt58C3PeGlq7XZnc1AYlzS228nphWiPGb8Dm_LBpjNa4gY7J6gTT_oaGUqzqRJushLTRWUwROM_7GAucnrBnbQHFgpdVAE6yn-A73VKflhmhWLROGt1EBzg3w/s1600/IMG_4463.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfL4i1PLPksOuocLLtr8cKt58C3PeGlq7XZnc1AYlzS228nphWiPGb8Dm_LBpjNa4gY7J6gTT_oaGUqzqRJushLTRWUwROM_7GAucnrBnbQHFgpdVAE6yn-A73VKflhmhWLROGt1EBzg3w/s320/IMG_4463.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1 box of Spice Cake mix</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1/3 large can of pumpkin</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1/4 cup vegetable oil</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1 egg</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj70u-HnXetpnFqaPqWLoN5C5xBHnD52NnjhOMuj37FyejXj-B59ATR8dvNHPpRc_fsobJuquKs9gOoRJrrt3D5MmhL6G8LkCHi-sgvB3-PERIe8qe3DVWNaAayHgQG71-qPTfe2dRYDECb/s1600/IMG_4459.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj70u-HnXetpnFqaPqWLoN5C5xBHnD52NnjhOMuj37FyejXj-B59ATR8dvNHPpRc_fsobJuquKs9gOoRJrrt3D5MmhL6G8LkCHi-sgvB3-PERIe8qe3DVWNaAayHgQG71-qPTfe2dRYDECb/s320/IMG_4459.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Heat oven to 350. Mix all the ingredients together with an electric mixer. If the dough is too thick add more pumpkin. If the dough is too runny add some flour. Use cookie scoop to place dough onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake 12-14 minutes, or until done. Press unwrapped kiss onto the cookie. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiC7lOFACbWFe2Z2nMp_cii7eX_Iw9tY92wy6xw3s5r_uSiUfGoCeQT7Wj7UWOTZ7DSxqsuddbH8c7gjfu8Eu9kB-mcvA2nXn3iDzx7KWlZuHNW3yhY_3opRQRxuU3ir_YUfFoKwZR51XL/s1600/IMG_4460.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiC7lOFACbWFe2Z2nMp_cii7eX_Iw9tY92wy6xw3s5r_uSiUfGoCeQT7Wj7UWOTZ7DSxqsuddbH8c7gjfu8Eu9kB-mcvA2nXn3iDzx7KWlZuHNW3yhY_3opRQRxuU3ir_YUfFoKwZR51XL/s320/IMG_4460.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Immediately place the cookie sheet in the fridge so the kiss won't melt too quickly. You'll need to leave the cookies in the fridge for about 20 minutes for the kiss to set.</div>

Here are some fun new tailgating ideas I've found on Pinterest!<br />
<br />
I posted about finding some Silver Platter look-alike trays at the <a href="http://grovegal.blogspot.com/2012/10/dollar-store-deals.html" target="_blank">dollar store in a previous post</a>. Melissa at <a href="http://www.sillybeeschickadees.com/2012/11/dollar-store-chalkboard-tray.html" target="_blank">Silly Bee's Chickadees</a> made this adorable chalkboard out of the same tray! Check out her tutorial, and you can also refer to my <a href="http://grovegal.blogspot.com/2012/09/chalkboard-paint.html" target="_blank">chalkboard paint post</a> on some great ways to incorporate this into your tent.<br />

Place some pumpkin crafts on your table, and serve some yummy pumpkin spiced treats!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's one of the dryer vent pumpkins I made. A Diamond in the Stuff has a <a href="http://adiamondinthestuff.blogspot.com/2011/09/dryer-vent-pumpkin-tutorial.html" target="_blank">great post </a>on how to make these super easy pumpkins. They only cost about $4.00 to make!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQt4C8Q44uwccglm113df4L_IXGEtn1UCOzL_QMd6w8p1AbTIquptq9-p3vX9xH62CqDDrmZvmdFMuVg8azsZiHq35G7qh_A5FE8NwvPOniGIEn2e9XYq__OgKyqWAORwixjUqfb5IKUAu/s1600/dryer+vent+mine.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQt4C8Q44uwccglm113df4L_IXGEtn1UCOzL_QMd6w8p1AbTIquptq9-p3vX9xH62CqDDrmZvmdFMuVg8azsZiHq35G7qh_A5FE8NwvPOniGIEn2e9XYq__OgKyqWAORwixjUqfb5IKUAu/s320/dryer+vent+mine.jpeg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Another easy trick is using a pumpkin as a flower pot. Just carve the inside of the pumpkin out, and place the flowers in the pumpkin. You can even leave your flowers in the plastic pot so you can reuse them after you're done with the pumpkin.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Unfortunately the Grove does not have an open container policy, but you could always use this cute pumpkin ice bucket idea for your <a href="http://grovegal.blogspot.com/2012/10/watch-party.html" target="_blank">Watch Party</a> at home!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
Add some mini pumpkins to your flower arrangement! This would be really cute with cotton stalks.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikU67t8HToYzpGvhXFbt3LKNlEMrfJyIF4BonClbe9q7HL07tpFTdyaa6QIeSIOxgcb2MqoBB525ipUkYTNecfCC90xwGo5YcHrd716De6n1vwThTLGprfjzXduBdrk_1KSy2SWwlAlu5l/s1600/watch_parties_web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikU67t8HToYzpGvhXFbt3LKNlEMrfJyIF4BonClbe9q7HL07tpFTdyaa6QIeSIOxgcb2MqoBB525ipUkYTNecfCC90xwGo5YcHrd716De6n1vwThTLGprfjzXduBdrk_1KSy2SWwlAlu5l/s1600/watch_parties_web.jpg" /></a></div>
Watch parties are a fun way to get your friends together, and still enjoy a little "tailgating" in the comfort of your own home. Hosting a watch party at your house will also let you cook some different foods that would be too hard to transport and serve in the Grove.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOoKPDpFE-nvqBnWjiXuJQldeFjLBXkcM7bKg61_p5yHR7Al_bquTuUkO6I0uoVM8fMA6aGLC7-Go4E54jPLwv3zUlSBGuikz23KfcRFzcBw7PB11THQ0QOvvCaHbtJ4T_L6GTwio3Cvgb/s1600/74098356339728273_jV3mNsMq_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOoKPDpFE-nvqBnWjiXuJQldeFjLBXkcM7bKg61_p5yHR7Al_bquTuUkO6I0uoVM8fMA6aGLC7-Go4E54jPLwv3zUlSBGuikz23KfcRFzcBw7PB11THQ0QOvvCaHbtJ4T_L6GTwio3Cvgb/s320/74098356339728273_jV3mNsMq_c.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Recently I've been on a chili kick, and I think this is the perfect thing to serve at your watch party! Just make a big pot of chili, cornbread muffins, and set some bowls out! There are tons of recipes you can find all over the internet. My mom's chili is my favorite hands down. Here's the ingredients she uses:<br />
1 lb. lean ground beef<br />
1 can crushed tomatoes<br />
1 can tomoto puree<br />
1 tbsp chili powder<br />
1 tsp salt<br />
1 tsp pepper<br />
1 tbsp sugar<br />
3/4 cup worcestershire sauce<br />
1 can kidney beans<br />
1 can pinto beans<br />
1 can red beans<br />
1 can mushrooms<br />
1 chopped onion<br />
<br />
Don't forget to decorate! Bring out your tablecloths, hang your chandelier, turn your house into a min-Grove! What are your favorite foods to serve while watching Saturday football at home? Comment and let me know! Hotty Toddy!<br />

The Rebels broke their 16 game SEC losing streak when they defeated Auburn yesterday. What a great homecoming to be had by all the Rebel Nation! The Grove was full of alumni and fans joining in on the celebration. Here's some pictures of my set-up this weekend, and you'll spot a few of the crafts I've posted on here.<br />

Cinnamon Bites- these were huge hit! I just bought cans of Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls, and cut them into fourths. Then I put the fourth into a mini muffin pan and baked for about 10 mins. Put some of the icing on them and serve with some cute toothpicks from<a href="http://grovegal.blogspot.com/2012/10/some-final-add-ons.html" target="_blank"> this post</a>. You'll also notice they are served on the football field platter I posted about<a href="http://grovegal.blogspot.com/2012/10/vaught-hemingway-platter.html" target="_blank"> here</a>. </div>

I found this old terra cotta flower tray in the garage one day, and decided to craft it! After scrubbing it down, I decided to turn it into something I could use in the Grove.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLHEWkv_gM52aPQGHVscxmf6RpR9aEMLXviqq6Zt4O4DisshVyQYJ91UWPPDn-Q9lndgMZPhisXIHSWd1AAzInLv9q6DsO4biefY4ZqbFGiFNhDmukcVwIAMWicW16guYxzOAtkigS8smX/s1600/terrace_tray_terracotta.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="141" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLHEWkv_gM52aPQGHVscxmf6RpR9aEMLXviqq6Zt4O4DisshVyQYJ91UWPPDn-Q9lndgMZPhisXIHSWd1AAzInLv9q6DsO4biefY4ZqbFGiFNhDmukcVwIAMWicW16guYxzOAtkigS8smX/s320/terrace_tray_terracotta.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My inspiration for this project was this Ole Miss stadium platter below, which you can find at The Lilly Pad, the campus bookstore, and other gift shops for $55.00-$75.00. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheApFkrs1YnNuHZIicWw_obOrzuwBHOgRFhyQhh1YAaZTyFJRxAAJW1TE22wB5JJw6t8mLbd7kJdslIOjmtivBrajMK578AUJd_prxJkK8hRYy5xcYNL2ttfIIIXOaCptX_juxD47Q9k6j/s1600/ole+miss+platter.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheApFkrs1YnNuHZIicWw_obOrzuwBHOgRFhyQhh1YAaZTyFJRxAAJW1TE22wB5JJw6t8mLbd7kJdslIOjmtivBrajMK578AUJd_prxJkK8hRYy5xcYNL2ttfIIIXOaCptX_juxD47Q9k6j/s1600/ole+miss+platter.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After a few coats of paint and a little creativity, I had a Vaught Hemingway field platter to serve my tailgate treats on! (This photo was before I applied the sealer)</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDCbHYBtTIutjGZwyOOGETa3y2ly6S_pgYK9eav6d6IyWeR3CLLq8uKk5eeJy7U1SWQIMv89Fai4nhsDMcS6d9Jkb71DyaaFjKFgFUPBWgQUX2gCH2oKMlEeJKuHO3rul-5w3P8THKj5Ew/s1600/IMG_4207.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDCbHYBtTIutjGZwyOOGETa3y2ly6S_pgYK9eav6d6IyWeR3CLLq8uKk5eeJy7U1SWQIMv89Fai4nhsDMcS6d9Jkb71DyaaFjKFgFUPBWgQUX2gCH2oKMlEeJKuHO3rul-5w3P8THKj5Ew/s320/IMG_4207.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used this Patricia Nimocks sealer (available at Wal-Mart) to finish off my platter. Not only does it give the paint a nice glossy finish, it also helps protect the platter from food. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvpMqsg4ulvEbNTJEHUgXLmFmvBO-XJeBizyifI1vxW-AcVAKefqxEeBcmcorjMBJ18IYtgoRTrL9kVlmrdw9jrrOuccFmUordhaXUeOorRQ9ja4HcWXJmp89DdhFRtctW_-UcR0BEK2Gp/s1600/IMG_4208.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvpMqsg4ulvEbNTJEHUgXLmFmvBO-XJeBizyifI1vxW-AcVAKefqxEeBcmcorjMBJ18IYtgoRTrL9kVlmrdw9jrrOuccFmUordhaXUeOorRQ9ja4HcWXJmp89DdhFRtctW_-UcR0BEK2Gp/s320/IMG_4208.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
To add a little extra, I used some straws, hot glue, and yellow paint to make goal posts.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This project only cost me about $5 for the sealer! If you don't have a clay platter laying around, you can get one from Wal-Mart for about $4.00. Super easy and cute!</div>

They turned out so cute I just had to share them with you!<br />
<br />
First I Google Image searched "Red and Blue Bow Ties" and found <a href="http://www.the-perfect-necktie.com/Bow-Ties/" target="_blank">The Perfect Necktie website</a>. I searched through their red and blue bow tie sections, and found some bow ties that I liked. A few copy and pastes into a word document later, add in some text boxes (with fun fonts thanks to <a href="http://www.dafont.com/" target="_blank">DaFont</a>), and you have some cute labels for your tailgate treats!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9ijLJlrcmt29yrlyCsqZtHDuo49RL3QGyuqM4ShiaQhQ3ey4rJQYEwi1EByPiO2HzkD62v4YuLv9rSGu559RNjdEMo7m-UF8-cOr12TgeR54AJHiLZVz8r56kdf3rQ7wApkkXiNLffR7Q/s1600/IMG_4191.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9ijLJlrcmt29yrlyCsqZtHDuo49RL3QGyuqM4ShiaQhQ3ey4rJQYEwi1EByPiO2HzkD62v4YuLv9rSGu559RNjdEMo7m-UF8-cOr12TgeR54AJHiLZVz8r56kdf3rQ7wApkkXiNLffR7Q/s320/IMG_4191.jpg" width="317" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I just printed out the bow ties on my computer, laminated and cut them out. If you go to <a href="http://www.scribd.com/doc/109817846" target="_blank">this link</a> you can download the word document I created and enter your text in, like the picture below!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH2y8IXBOmZpYQPauxFfk_Iwm225QIc6o26QllRyg52_-7p0gFYUYV0Pp9DtFALACEPF2alv50cr0WtzJbVRjQThmRh7DJVZUd86-tSqWHl_u41ARdYdibGy0oXDQRL-hagckvI0McaTCt/s1600/bowtie.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="190" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH2y8IXBOmZpYQPauxFfk_Iwm225QIc6o26QllRyg52_-7p0gFYUYV0Pp9DtFALACEPF2alv50cr0WtzJbVRjQThmRh7DJVZUd86-tSqWHl_u41ARdYdibGy0oXDQRL-hagckvI0McaTCt/s320/bowtie.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then using some hot glue I glued the bow ties onto clothespins.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiY1asVuuhOn_D_pDe30tNN5Ug2dV8tdH4p6yzlM2Hrpbw0-5gUqCR96beBsBKi_zQys2SboCtvuX7yOkB7gmahQfpcSnFpsX0rN5LUl7rpxvOLKS78YXkXHJhylxeOBh5ssLOTaktq2P5/s1600/IMG_4195.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="226" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiY1asVuuhOn_D_pDe30tNN5Ug2dV8tdH4p6yzlM2Hrpbw0-5gUqCR96beBsBKi_zQys2SboCtvuX7yOkB7gmahQfpcSnFpsX0rN5LUl7rpxvOLKS78YXkXHJhylxeOBh5ssLOTaktq2P5/s320/IMG_4195.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyf3KzuLY-39gdIbwhVBOoDfYjW6qMGcmhhjuRRUMHxiMywuiFRZ9BB_2t4r1aHVO98a-lHsi1O-0UXaDILVZZlIgsdkVQRP0BwNL09EpF6eChJKMQrvjnw9UUndjdYAPbnx1inUeXdiKS/s1600/IMG_4196.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyf3KzuLY-39gdIbwhVBOoDfYjW6qMGcmhhjuRRUMHxiMywuiFRZ9BB_2t4r1aHVO98a-lHsi1O-0UXaDILVZZlIgsdkVQRP0BwNL09EpF6eChJKMQrvjnw9UUndjdYAPbnx1inUeXdiKS/s320/IMG_4196.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now you can clip the clothespins onto your <a href="http://grovegal.blogspot.com/2012/08/terra-cotta-clay-pot-fun.html" target="_blank">terra cotta cake stands</a>, serving platters, or whatever else you'd like!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuQfn6yGmburZulhUXgZ94_jBKU3Nbmd4fFbzgj5BI1JQkALphCYpqJ2ugGwJthJgwQLLTDuthnvfa-Ep1OjW-TJKKRjwI8J3jKeW5pYp8Xv7RYRuYmA7A8mezVKb0aTwK8YJUbouERTdR/s1600/IMG_4200.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuQfn6yGmburZulhUXgZ94_jBKU3Nbmd4fFbzgj5BI1JQkALphCYpqJ2ugGwJthJgwQLLTDuthnvfa-Ep1OjW-TJKKRjwI8J3jKeW5pYp8Xv7RYRuYmA7A8mezVKb0aTwK8YJUbouERTdR/s320/IMG_4200.jpg" width="233" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I clipped a few onto my stacking plate holder, mentioned in my <a href="http://grovegal.blogspot.com/2012/10/dollar-store-deals.html" target="_blank">Dollar Store Deals post</a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
All together, this project costs about maybe $5.00 tops (for clothespins and hot glue). These labels are great for adding a little decoration, and they also help your tent goers know what yummy treats they are about to devour! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have fun crafting and Hotty Toddy!</div>

Believe it or not you can make your tent look just as elegant and expensive as the most beautiful tents in the Grove by shopping at dollar stores. Yes, you read that correctly, I said dollar stores.<br />
<br />
After yesterday's game, I needed a little retail therapy. But being Sunday most stores were closed, so I made a trip to Oxford's <a href="http://www.dollartree.com/home.jsp" target="_blank">Dollar Tree Store</a>, "Where Everything is $1.00!" Dollar Tree has some great basic party supplies and other crafty items that you can use in your tailgate. Here are a few things I found... and trust me, when you see them in my tent this Saturday, no one will believe I got them at the dollar store!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeyZ-MP7u7_8sRBEmU3jfSrXofttHvtHxc6RvlCC0Drz25OQFX7HLCP-NoKh8J0Xwrg3S61N21R6xMjtkTKHfZTBm5R08E3yuMMSo7fMK3WPLqlAc26SVbt-wWSYhGGWPzTYjFh13hdCd9/s1600/IMG_4171.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeyZ-MP7u7_8sRBEmU3jfSrXofttHvtHxc6RvlCC0Drz25OQFX7HLCP-NoKh8J0Xwrg3S61N21R6xMjtkTKHfZTBm5R08E3yuMMSo7fMK3WPLqlAc26SVbt-wWSYhGGWPzTYjFh13hdCd9/s320/IMG_4171.jpg" width="301" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This faux silver plate is great! It's is nickel-plated, so it doesn't feel plasticy. It even has a design etched into the plate, so it really looks like a vintage silver platter. And guess what... it was only a dollar!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihaQgax5tZ8fQcw0VPNDuCClYOAszbB9etmQTTZ8lhix1SWTwHFMrS_B7FpGOnAEwVSr153vZGuTnbZVx8U0Q1WWEXvknJUcEknss6oJJdMDdS0qh5YyoL_n7lQaAPlp8jEF7IEcIRZ9VQ/s1600/IMG_4172.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihaQgax5tZ8fQcw0VPNDuCClYOAszbB9etmQTTZ8lhix1SWTwHFMrS_B7FpGOnAEwVSr153vZGuTnbZVx8U0Q1WWEXvknJUcEknss6oJJdMDdS0qh5YyoL_n7lQaAPlp8jEF7IEcIRZ9VQ/s320/IMG_4172.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I got this stacking plate holder at an antique store for $5.00. I added three of the faux silver plates from Dollar Tree, and voila it looks like the other expensive silver serving trays seen throughout the Grove.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqDfmAWo4xYtRJFjk5HEHmWXwAybvNYMbmSTxmi8_01lMdOYIqEhFUJP38ZmdiBuiMahFhT8fsANZy3U9Z9Y0MCYBMYIt3GhQ4uJnViVSlIMQryPYQqek-02w0_uZ0bTG4nlepviGYGBoD/s1600/trays.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqDfmAWo4xYtRJFjk5HEHmWXwAybvNYMbmSTxmi8_01lMdOYIqEhFUJP38ZmdiBuiMahFhT8fsANZy3U9Z9Y0MCYBMYIt3GhQ4uJnViVSlIMQryPYQqek-02w0_uZ0bTG4nlepviGYGBoD/s320/trays.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Dollar Store carries these<a href="http://www.dollartree.com/party-supplies/Wedding-Bridal-Shower/Nickel-Plated-Trays/207c345c345p300407/index.pro" target="_blank"> Nickel-Plated Trays</a> in a variety of shapes and sizes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZhQ5a4ihnmwHyVuj37CoqhWL1ivNSfp5UJfqB63W0-4cq-6o8xYpBrWBljRjBgdRpyqnUmSMi58yRXDd8yWM5mgLY8NkjW-QmGzgoipUd2RUJu7a7-MBxSvIK3RUGbvWzQ5Z_55SB6MWi/s1600/silverware.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZhQ5a4ihnmwHyVuj37CoqhWL1ivNSfp5UJfqB63W0-4cq-6o8xYpBrWBljRjBgdRpyqnUmSMi58yRXDd8yWM5mgLY8NkjW-QmGzgoipUd2RUJu7a7-MBxSvIK3RUGbvWzQ5Z_55SB6MWi/s400/silverware.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also found these great "Silver Look" plastic forks, knives, and spoons. They are thicker than the average plastic cutlery you buy, and they look very much like real silverware. This cutlery comes in sets of 12, and the best part... it's only a dollar!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjumL9Uf0oWJJFHQxUQvl4XiC8EBGyPqni0JP-BcpWxyzEppJqCfTZN0-PQkaeisrJHdCv4elGywASPX6r9Wa2LZmd9tSh90OOIQkVfn_YQE6fSu4B_pOJwGqP3X-bXfe-oNc_J4Lh510b/s1600/IMG_4173.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="276" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjumL9Uf0oWJJFHQxUQvl4XiC8EBGyPqni0JP-BcpWxyzEppJqCfTZN0-PQkaeisrJHdCv4elGywASPX6r9Wa2LZmd9tSh90OOIQkVfn_YQE6fSu4B_pOJwGqP3X-bXfe-oNc_J4Lh510b/s320/IMG_4173.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can use ribbon almost anywhere in your tailgate. Tie a ribbon around a flower pot, add bows to a drink bucket, the options are endless. I found this red and blue grosgrain ribbon in the craft isle with the fake flowers. Each roll has 5 yards for only a dollar! I don't even think Wal-Mart can beat that deal. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Unfortunately, all the "pin" says is "uploaded by user" so I don't know who to give credit to!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This project is super easy and super cheap! I bought my two terra cotta planters at Wal-Mart for $2.50 each! Add in some paint brushes and blue, red, and white acrylic paint... this project only adds up to be about $8-10. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiq_9h-j6I3Hgywq9-Zzx2Qh7gpPi0uv_3jifmbb6d64OsPHdwnZjvgvy__vZOzWB-sSQMTsUpe-BtHX5XAe09D_QqQz34KyFtwV1uaABbQNzq1c1kpqmbyM28-8L-bVF1UI3lGgc9LRG0/s1600/photo+(4).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiq_9h-j6I3Hgywq9-Zzx2Qh7gpPi0uv_3jifmbb6d64OsPHdwnZjvgvy__vZOzWB-sSQMTsUpe-BtHX5XAe09D_QqQz34KyFtwV1uaABbQNzq1c1kpqmbyM28-8L-bVF1UI3lGgc9LRG0/s320/photo+(4).jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Start with a basic terra cotta planter pot. I used a mid-size pot, so I could put some mums in it. But you could make this with any size you want! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8ROD7EyCfIggRZeW9WvV3RbMgws_VdZ9stClEy3ajEBHvr6gJYPj32nmcfjwgT5wZVUOtvSGh6kVW1fbqaEkCXASrECFyHXQwDAhYkCQt9gvHfy8xU2QX_vuafNen7mHK3BegCPA8xlyO/s1600/photo+(3).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8ROD7EyCfIggRZeW9WvV3RbMgws_VdZ9stClEy3ajEBHvr6gJYPj32nmcfjwgT5wZVUOtvSGh6kVW1fbqaEkCXASrECFyHXQwDAhYkCQt9gvHfy8xU2QX_vuafNen7mHK3BegCPA8xlyO/s320/photo+(3).jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Turn one of the pots upside down, and paint a jacket, pants, and shirt onto the pot using red, blue, and white paint.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuRBR24qU9-HudUSaW-4NbHH2sBp60yRruDnU1YUcNbxOoFC8oCBDb8BgbGkZSPseRdfnoPNY56PuNn1ejQqpWfFI__hdHxWAzFcWITtE-aOnr5hdzm1EUbW30qescnAeXyr1LCYa08A8F/s1600/photo+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuRBR24qU9-HudUSaW-4NbHH2sBp60yRruDnU1YUcNbxOoFC8oCBDb8BgbGkZSPseRdfnoPNY56PuNn1ejQqpWfFI__hdHxWAzFcWITtE-aOnr5hdzm1EUbW30qescnAeXyr1LCYa08A8F/s320/photo+(2).jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After the base coats have dried, use black Tulip Slicks (or puff-paint) to outline the outfit. Don't forget to add black outlines for the coat's lapel. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLV_C7SfZX626gLOnCDUKVBcAnzF8gsamSAszFOHijnkNmlogb3kEH4PXxW_S9YpX3Njb1RLBCRF2e1ZLIE_KoPlyS2ZGJtvINgpMKIMmTI7ndo0rDzQJpTvwwjIAuSEyDlh19kcAvi_6m/s1600/photo+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLV_C7SfZX626gLOnCDUKVBcAnzF8gsamSAszFOHijnkNmlogb3kEH4PXxW_S9YpX3Njb1RLBCRF2e1ZLIE_KoPlyS2ZGJtvINgpMKIMmTI7ndo0rDzQJpTvwwjIAuSEyDlh19kcAvi_6m/s320/photo+%25281%2529.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
On the other pot, use white and cream paint to make the Colonel's face. Grab your black Tulip Slicks again and outline the face and beard. Paint red around the top of the pot to represent the Colonel's hat. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(The original photo used wood cutouts for eyebrows, a nose, beard, and arms... I just painted mine on)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrKQ33vltwNPom8G940dlYIL4023dgGifGhyphenhyphenWvp1aaapYracKoVEpyJn9WJ9rOdQtauVAfxSKKN1V_2Mk3uRJNe6ojuwLCaELUtgNG8Tb6xSi2HbALjWAf_2DZjJC8TqCruD1NdKoK8lbq/s1600/colreb.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrKQ33vltwNPom8G940dlYIL4023dgGifGhyphenhyphenWvp1aaapYracKoVEpyJn9WJ9rOdQtauVAfxSKKN1V_2Mk3uRJNe6ojuwLCaELUtgNG8Tb6xSi2HbALjWAf_2DZjJC8TqCruD1NdKoK8lbq/s320/colreb.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(This is the original picture I found on Pinterest)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Give the Colonel a bow-tie by adding a ribbon around where the pots connect. Lastly, place some flowers in the top pot!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love this craft, and it really adds some height to your table.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Happy crafting and Hotty Toddy!</div>

Be sure to include some of these traditional tailgate bites along with your fancy foods. These are also great because most of them take very little time and prep, so you can have them in the oven while you work on your more difficult to make treats!<br />

Here are some things to stock up on for tailgating season!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-H-Kd9oOTSLcI4C8wD9y1WW_5xmEc5RHdg4OBSG2T1nS5p-AKperVwU53Q-kVYLWyi5vq-Z7GxU2w2kgwkjVIVG7uLKd7nmZKecOq70hlvEml4Co-IFpTS0_XwqJJq62-GY0BxCwpszrp/s1600/tail.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="305" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-H-Kd9oOTSLcI4C8wD9y1WW_5xmEc5RHdg4OBSG2T1nS5p-AKperVwU53Q-kVYLWyi5vq-Z7GxU2w2kgwkjVIVG7uLKd7nmZKecOq70hlvEml4Co-IFpTS0_XwqJJq62-GY0BxCwpszrp/s400/tail.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
-<b><i>Saran Wrap</i></b>- You'll need plenty of this to wrap up all your tailgate treats!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-<b><i>Tin Foil</i></b>- One can never have enough tin foil, and you use it in almost every tailgate recipe. Buy it in bulk, stock in the back of the pantry.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-<i><b>Crescent Rolls</b></i>- Almost every tailgate has at least two recipes that use crescent rolls, so these cans of dough sell out days before gameday. While your tailgating friends will be frantically searching the town for this doughy goodness, you'll have plenty stored up!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-<b><i>Paper Plates and Plasticware</i></b>- Buying these in bulk aren't always pretty, usually just a simple white or clear. But if you're trying to save money you can buy them in bulk.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-Sam's Club is also a great place to buy your <i><b>tent, tables, chairs, coolers</b></i>, etc. if you haven't already, or need to add another one!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I've heard people calling this past weekend "The South's Biggest Party", and it truly was! Oxford transformed into one large party with over 100,000 people packed into our small little town. It was truly a weekend to be remembered.<br />
The Grove was so packed together, it was hard to see all the wonderfully decorated tents. Tents were placed pole-to-pole, I don't think there were any spots of open grass to be seen.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyL0afXEGb_vZ7n-7Iu7cFJS0bhAuDfyVp7nmd0M74MgqoaoGRrCOp6jA2eaLOwnZmwFzgfIfWDZTwOU71JzuyUldF4h23uEXzdaPQEeP320K-N_G0gHckASbLrdMHq24vRZ-Pz1zPfJLP/s1600/Ole_Miss-grove.350w_263h.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyL0afXEGb_vZ7n-7Iu7cFJS0bhAuDfyVp7nmd0M74MgqoaoGRrCOp6jA2eaLOwnZmwFzgfIfWDZTwOU71JzuyUldF4h23uEXzdaPQEeP320K-N_G0gHckASbLrdMHq24vRZ-Pz1zPfJLP/s320/Ole_Miss-grove.350w_263h.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
As much fun as this weekend was, I am looking forward to a slightly smaller crowd for the next home game. Since we have a couple weekends away before the next Grove event, this is a perfect time to be working on some crafts for your next tailgate!<br />
Over the next two weeks I'm going to be bringing you some tutorials (with pictures) so you can craft away for the A&M game. Keep checking back to see my tutorials on making your own football field platter, a new pennant banner, my attempt at spray painting a chandelier, sewing your own ruffled burlap tablecloth, and lots of new yummy recipes! Hotty Toddy!<br />

I know you all are super busy getting everything ready for the Grove tomorrow. However, if you are one of the lucky few to have some free time, here's another fun craft you can whip up. These canvas/burlap footballs only take about an hour to make (so easy). If you don't have time to whip one of these up before tomorrow and just have to have one, go to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/OliveJuiceGifts" target="_blank">Olive Juice on the Square</a>. If you're anywhere near the Oxford area, you will have noticed the traffic is beginning to pick up and there is a lot more orange. The Texas have arrived and the whole town is buzzing about it! If you have a Twitter account, go search the hashtag <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/search/TexasGameRumors" target="_blank">#TexasGameRumors</a>, trust me you will laugh your pants off. (If you don't have Twitter than you are probably thinking "What the heck is this girl talking about?! Hashtag-a-what?")<br />
<br />
With just two night left until gameday, I hope you all are hard at work getting things ready for the biggest tailgating event this year! If you have a little extra time, here are some cute chalkboard ideas to add to your tent! Chalkboard paint is super easy to use, and you can even make it yourself! <a href="http://abeautifulmess.typepad.com/my_weblog/2012/02/how-to-mix-chalkboard-paint-in-any-color.html" target="_blank">A Beautiful Mess</a> has posted a great tutorial on how to make your own chalkboard paint, and in any color you want!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqeycIg_4x2LutyMLlEuPWgXI4pHhlSklvEn6Q91-L273cvPjfLpMjiHauxVC_ScizsWU5RXagvsF0N0vSOcA-A8D2DY9jzYNIzLUYOBMwQEMCe8jMOXn5ZbvJ1bNxXsGZPY9AcfcI5_jt/s1600/paint.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="274" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqeycIg_4x2LutyMLlEuPWgXI4pHhlSklvEn6Q91-L273cvPjfLpMjiHauxVC_ScizsWU5RXagvsF0N0vSOcA-A8D2DY9jzYNIzLUYOBMwQEMCe8jMOXn5ZbvJ1bNxXsGZPY9AcfcI5_jt/s320/paint.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Use your homemade chalkboard paint to make some cute food signs for your tent! These are great because you can re-use them every game!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHffkkZsmV4Mzyqnglhv3eLvwmZYdsf_6eKwaatKbmucvE_2DKTAZi94WBTsckwZGoBnIFStkLKtPuLWpSba3dKFQSaT61ckVMFNRpypoj93fQvwufIJ3L8X8JMofSJel2ddD2aV2Qk6Kp/s1600/chalk+cards.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="279" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHffkkZsmV4Mzyqnglhv3eLvwmZYdsf_6eKwaatKbmucvE_2DKTAZi94WBTsckwZGoBnIFStkLKtPuLWpSba3dKFQSaT61ckVMFNRpypoj93fQvwufIJ3L8X8JMofSJel2ddD2aV2Qk6Kp/s320/chalk+cards.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
You can also use the paint to make a menu to attract Grovers into your tent! Be sure to come up with some fun creative name for your treats!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhG0VfjKlRhblH98Ko5yw8UNJv6zg6QA4Ob-cEC6jxe_olilawKRU14I8Wc_VfBdfdNhrvfNHGPbIDKrwww3qut_nLhqp9jtq5O3md58iP8oC9bh57eyVgvb5QZiCU-iwLHYeQSnIHqEShc/s1600/menu2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhG0VfjKlRhblH98Ko5yw8UNJv6zg6QA4Ob-cEC6jxe_olilawKRU14I8Wc_VfBdfdNhrvfNHGPbIDKrwww3qut_nLhqp9jtq5O3md58iP8oC9bh57eyVgvb5QZiCU-iwLHYeQSnIHqEShc/s320/menu2.jpg" width="211" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You can also use a chalkboard for other things in your tent, like a Hotty Toddy sign or post the football schedule up (with all the Rebel victories!) You can also write up a catchy phrase for each week. I've seen "Free Beer for BYU Fans" and of course "Free Corndogs" during the LSU weekend. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3Co9LIIWRZuPYbEw30X14UcOQUF9fdG2tR4mRqfVzJYe7M0U2qRVC8pNopFXD-z1rhzSnmdQt1WhpjyFEj6gowv4aLvWd8DsihzT0EWkNqU3Kz7spi4d11l1aWKuO3X240ltZXAkuNC7X/s1600/football.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3Co9LIIWRZuPYbEw30X14UcOQUF9fdG2tR4mRqfVzJYe7M0U2qRVC8pNopFXD-z1rhzSnmdQt1WhpjyFEj6gowv4aLvWd8DsihzT0EWkNqU3Kz7spi4d11l1aWKuO3X240ltZXAkuNC7X/s1600/football.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Remember to stay safe this weekend with the massive crowd in town! Hotty Toddy!</div>

Security will let you drive your car into right up to the Grove and park for a few minutes to unload, but believe me this is the biggest hassle and ends up being more trouble than it's worth.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So I began to wonder, how can I walk all my tailgating goodies up to the Grove from my car that's parked a quarter mile away? Solution: an old trunk. I attended summer camp every year growing up, and my old camp trunk has been sitting in my parent's garage for years. So I decided to upcycle my trunk and turn it into The Tailgating Trunk!</span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This trunk works perfectly to transport Grove stuff because it has WHEELS! I just throw everything in there (food, decorations, etc.) and wheel it up to the Grove. It can also be used for seating once you get it up to the Grove. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b><u>How to Paint It:</u></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the base coat I used a navy blue spray paint with a primer. It took about two coats to cover the entire trunk. After the spray paint fully dried, I used basic acrylic paint to add the decorations. It was super easy, and only took about 2 hours plus drying time! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

"It's may be Bigger in Texas, but it's Better in the Grove!" I love it! You can definitely make use of this saying in your tent this weekend! Maybe paint a little sign, or put it on a chalkboard!<br />

Some people pull out all the stops and bring their crystal </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #211922; line-height: 19.5px;">chandeliers, however I think the cutest ones are the painted </span><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #211922;"><span style="line-height: 19.5px;">chandeliers! Here are two fantastic tutorials on how to paint a brass </span></span></span><span style="background-color: white; color: #211922; line-height: 19.5px;">chandelier. You can find an old brass </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #211922; line-height: 19.5px;">chandelier at most thrift stores, however if you live in the Oxford area I would suggest looking out-of-town because most stores over-price their </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #211922; line-height: 19.5px;">chandeliers since they are in high demand for tailgating season! </span></span><br />

Here are a few ideas to keep those fans happy!<br />
<br />
Cornhole is the ultimate tailgating game. There isn't much room in the Grove for this game, so make sure you find an area with some extra space for Cornhole. <a href="http://hoosierhomemade.com/how-to-build-a-cornhole-toss/" target="_blank">Hoosier Homemade</a> has a GREAT tutorial on how to make a Cornhole Toss.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX_6N-twyJr9yp3aiMmuvZ9FiA7TfVTiMVKRNABhuR7jmdg7VbTf4RXkT2QN7uJOycs7dpahL96O6Nhk2_CQYun-WFp0APB31NV8_kW-vd-3vRpJ4RDU1C1dL1m5z1WP36ui9Oc6JGWiv-/s1600/cornhole.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX_6N-twyJr9yp3aiMmuvZ9FiA7TfVTiMVKRNABhuR7jmdg7VbTf4RXkT2QN7uJOycs7dpahL96O6Nhk2_CQYun-WFp0APB31NV8_kW-vd-3vRpJ4RDU1C1dL1m5z1WP36ui9Oc6JGWiv-/s320/cornhole.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Once you've got the basic design built, you need to paint it up! Of course red and blue decked out with Colonel Reb or "Hotty Toddy" is a must... but here are some of my other favorite designs to gather inspiration from!<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Replace the Hornet with Colonel Reb of course!</td></tr>

You'll also need some bean bags for your Cornhole! You can buy these at Walmart or Toys-R-Us, or you can sew your own! <a href="http://www.purlbee.com/lavender-sachets/" target="_blank">The Purl Bee</a> has a great tutorial on how to make these bean bags. Use some red and blue or Ole Miss fabric!!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

If you have kiddos at your tent, set up a little kids table with some coloring books and crayons! Here's a <a href="http://dailycoloringpages.com/images/ole-miss-rebels-college-football-coloring-pages-01.png" target="_blank">fun Ole Miss coloring sheet </a>you can print off for the kids to color!<br />

Two wins in a row for our Rebs, what a great way to start the season! Next week might possibly be the largest Grove event we have seen in years. With The University of Texas making its way to Oxford, fans from the great Lone Star State will be pouring into the Grove. This is definitely the time to show off our Groving at its best! Since we need to be in tip-top Grove shape this week, I will be blogging a post everyday to get you ready!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Since the Texas game is so late in the evening (8:15pm... yikes!), you're going to need some heavier apps and treats than you would for a normal game. Here's a few suggestions to hold over your tent goers. You'll also probably want to make a larger amount of food this game since there will be so much time and so many people in the Grove! Make sure to hit the grocery store early, especially if you live in Oxford!</div>
<br />
<i><u><b>Ham and Swiss Sliders</b></u></i><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibT5w005rbaTS4fjuXxQsysHq450jcJ1UmN8JX0NnMiWgvjC19SX7Odu-WvIv4zmvaP0avWMCVZ9Ok_EGTz2JjvhaclZ-4E1G4GMGd6yrpIdP1tnIcxg9F_HigmG5Cjpce6-Oj7o6PqBVM/s1600/ham.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibT5w005rbaTS4fjuXxQsysHq450jcJ1UmN8JX0NnMiWgvjC19SX7Odu-WvIv4zmvaP0avWMCVZ9Ok_EGTz2JjvhaclZ-4E1G4GMGd6yrpIdP1tnIcxg9F_HigmG5Cjpce6-Oj7o6PqBVM/s1600/ham.jpg" /></a></div>
These are a tailgate staple, and therefore I imagine most of you are familiar with how to make them. <a href="http://nabbyhazar.blogspot.com/2009/05/ham-and-swiss-sliders.html" target="_blank">The Hazar Family Blog </a>has a great recipe and directions on how to make these yummy sliders.<br />
<br />
<u><b>Bacon Cheeseburger Bites</b></u><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3BoGwt9l8pLiYaw5XpMPXKl99Ns9sjkBYYz1UqmWbkpKTUMmklwTBkMKgnoQMFVVCfTDiAr7wcsTj_eFgm3FgzaqiLuILL36CpIk63D_ziiXLGoUcT40hXD50W2oE6pK6AgRjvkmGjmlp/s1600/bacon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3BoGwt9l8pLiYaw5XpMPXKl99Ns9sjkBYYz1UqmWbkpKTUMmklwTBkMKgnoQMFVVCfTDiAr7wcsTj_eFgm3FgzaqiLuILL36CpIk63D_ziiXLGoUcT40hXD50W2oE6pK6AgRjvkmGjmlp/s1600/bacon.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These are packed with protein to keep fans full and pumped up to cheer on the Rebels! The recipe is from <a href="http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Bacon-Cheeseburger-Buns" target="_blank">Taste of Home.</a> If you would like a healthier option, just leave out the bacon!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<b><i><u>Chicken Tenders</u></i></b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWEnrWA7ITtHMMo6B5u5-uGTKDZ2AKpwPZaubCbaga9bXXkVVg_YEpSDT6GG5anV2Q6aEVWoussw_Suuqv9p9SD25LUcCDtx25vWV5aK5IJPOCtBWktNqsloiO_S9ieyckSYcM71CQvPPa/s1600/chick.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWEnrWA7ITtHMMo6B5u5-uGTKDZ2AKpwPZaubCbaga9bXXkVVg_YEpSDT6GG5anV2Q6aEVWoussw_Suuqv9p9SD25LUcCDtx25vWV5aK5IJPOCtBWktNqsloiO_S9ieyckSYcM71CQvPPa/s1600/chick.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Go ahead and make one thing easy on yourself... You can order chicken tenders from <a href="http://www.abnerschicken.com/" target="_blank">Abner's </a>or <a href="https://www.obys.net/index.php" target="_blank">Oby's </a>the week before the game, and pick them up on gameday. But don't just put the box out! Add some Grove flair to those tenders! I love this idea of putting little toothpick flags on the tenders. Grab some red and blue scrapbook paper and tape them onto toothpicks to make these cute little flags! Also put your sauce in some cute cups!</div>
